Hiroshima Animation Academy & Meeting 2026 (commonly known as HAM) is a networking-style academy program held at JMS Aster Plaza from August 19 to 23, 2026, alongside Hiroshima Animation Season 2026 (HAS).
HAM transforms the film festival from a place of mere observation into a hub for connection, dialogue, and learning. These encounters foster opportunities for career development, skill acquisition, and professional networking.
We aim to redefine the film festival as a community that sustains the enthusiasm of its participants and connects the creators of animation's future.
HAM 2026 will feature a competition, talks, symposia, workshops, and networking events.

HAM Competition (Special Cooperation by Japan Animation Association: Kihachiro Kawamoto Fund)
For Hiroshima Animation Season 2026, the volume and quality of Japanese submissions were exceptional, including many powerful works that narrowly missed selection. Consequently, we have established the "HAM Competition" specifically for Japanese works, to be held within the Hiroshima Animation Academy & Meeting.
Selections are made by producer Nobuaki Doi in consultation with the filmmakers. Please note that works cannot be selected for both the HAS and HAM competitions.
During the festival, a jury will award one Grand Prix and three Best Awards across all categories.
