For many born in the city, the apartment is the only hometown they've ever known. A The Sense of Space for Urban People and Echo depict the spaces they inhabit and the memories of childhood embedded within them. In A Long Alone and Last Order, the apartment becomes a stage for solitude and tragedy. My Father's Room looks back on a family shattered by violence. In City and Circle, people register one another's presence with seeming indifference. Across works capturing the city from the 2000s to the 2020s, we find the same enduring truth: we are all lonely together.

I live on the 23rd floor of my apartment. It's so high that I feel dizzy whenever I go to bed and lie down to sleep. I think of 22 rooms that are under my feet and thousands of rooms for others in Seoul. People live above, below, and over the wall, but none of us know each other and we sleep and we dream every night.

She was abused by her father during childhood. Since he left, the pain and anger had begun to fade. One day, unexpectedly, she was struck by a revelation about her father's life that cast her feelings about him into confusion.

The record of discontinued time and place, from dying alone to discovery. One year period after a person’s solitary death is shown in time-lapse. Inside the house, there are traces of his fierce life, and the audience can guess his life by following the traces. The house stays at the time of his death. On the contrary, the exterior landscape constantly changes, giving a feeling of contrast to the house. A year later, his body is found, and the scene of his death is cleared by special cleaners.
Animation director from Pohang, South Korea. YEO graduated from Sangmyung University – Digital Contents in 2013 and Korean Academy of Film Arts(KAFA) – Animation Department in 2015. Her debut short animated film ‘Cocoon’(2015) was selected at various film festivals worldwide including Annecy Festival, Sakhalin International Film Festival, and Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival, and won the Grand Prize for Graduation Film at BIAF2015, KIAFA Special Prize at the Indie-Anifest. YEO directed feature animation ‘Rose Motel’(2018), and the short animation ‘Midnight Horror Cinema’(2020).

A pizza guy goes on a late-night delivery to a suburban apartment. Despite long flights of stairs, room 1601 is nowhere to be found. Instead he is left with grim, mysterious illusions and traces.
JO Hang-jin began his career while studying Visual Communication Design at Myongji University, gaining industry experience at a web animation production company. He later worked on the production of the popular Korean animated series Woobi Boy and Pucca. In 2010, Hang-jin founded KOAN Studio, where he developed numerous commercial animation pilot projects. His TV animated series Space Jungle, which he created and directed, was recognized for its original world-building and strong visual direction. He is currently the producer and supervising director of the horror anthology series Horror Nights at OCON Studios, while developing his next feature-length animated film.
The girl draws a circle on the ground. Passersby step into it, one by one. Soon the circle is full of people, struggling to stay within. Once the girl returns and erases the circle, people start heading their way.
Director Yumi Joung graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and attended KAFA (Korean Academy of Film Arts) for animation directing. She has been creating animation and picture books ever since with her delicate and distinctive pencil drawing technique. In 2009, her work Dust Kid, an animation, was invited to screen at Cannes’ Directors Fortnight. In 2013, Love Games made its world premiere at Berlinale Shorts and won the Grand Prix at Animafest Zagreb. Her work, Circle, was invited to screen at Berlinale Shorts in 2024, followed by Love Games (2013), House of Existence (2022), and Math Test (2010), making its fourth appearance. In 2023, The Waves premiered at the Pardi di domani section of the Locarno Film Festival. Her most recent work, GLASSES, was invited to The Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025. In 2014, Dust Kid was published as a picture book and won the Bologna Ragazzi Award. The following year, her work My Little Doll’s House consecutively won the Bologna Ragazzi Award. In 2019, Yumi became a member of the AMPAS (Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science).
Echo is a story about young brothers, living in an apartment in a newly developed city near Seoul, Korea in the 90’s. The brothers’ every morning starts to get disrupted by a strange man across the apartment yelling “yaho”. They start their own little investigation to find out the motifs of the man, after hearing the rumor that this strange man is a cannibal.
