The 3rd Hiroshima Award Commemorative Screening: TAROMAN EXPO EXPLOSION—"Do Not Cheer" Cheering Screening Confirmed!
The "Hiroshima Award," organized by the Hiroshima Festival, recognizes groups and individuals whose activities are expected to contribute to the promotion of peace culture from Hiroshima—a city that achieved recovery from the ruins of the atomic bombing.
We are pleased to announce that Director Ryo Fujii and the production team of TAROMAN The Movie: Expo Great Explosion have won the Media Arts Division of the 3rd Hiroshima Award!
To commemorate this award, Hiroshima Animation Season 2026 will hold a special screening of the tokusatsu (special effects) action feature film TAROMAN EXPO EXPLOSION, themed around the words and works of Taro Okamoto. It will be presented in the style of the "Do Not Cheer" Cheering Screening, which has been making waves across Japan. Please enjoy this work, filled with nonsensical energy, in a unique screening style where vocal cheering, clapping, snapping, singing, bringing merchandise, and cosplaying are all allowed! However, remember: you must not cheer for Taroman! In the post-screening talk, Taroman himself is scheduled to crash the event alongside the director, Mr.Fujii!
